Who can submit to Luminara Nether?
We accept submissions from writers aged 18 and above, with no upper age limit. Submissions are open internationally, provided the work is written in English.
What types of work do you accept?
We currently accept:
- Poetry – up to 1000 words per poem
- Short stories – up to 3000 words
Each issue is themed, and submissions should engage meaningfully with the announced theme.
Do you accept previously published work?
No. We only accept original, unpublished work. This includes work that has appeared on personal blogs, websites, or social media.
Can I submit to multiple categories?
Please submit to one category per submission period. If you have work in multiple genres, you may choose the category that best fits your piece.
Can I submit more than once?
Unless otherwise specified, one submission per category during a submission period is allowed. If your work is not accepted, you are welcome to submit again in future calls.
Do you accept simultaneous submissions?
Yes, simultaneous submissions are allowed. However, if your work is accepted elsewhere, please notify us immediately so we can withdraw it from consideration.
Do you provide feedback on submissions?
Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback.
How long does it take to hear back about my submission?
Response times vary depending on the submission period, but generally you can expect to hear from us within 4–6 weeks after submissions close.
Who retains the rights to published work?
Authors retain full copyright of their work. By submitting and being accepted, contributors grant Luminara Nether First Electronic Publishing Rights and permission to archive the work on our website.
Do you accept AI-generated writing?
No. We only publish human-created work. Any submission found to be AI-generated or plagiarized will be disqualified.
Is there a submission fee?
No. Submissions to Luminara Nether are currently free.
Will contributors be paid?
At present, we are unable to offer payment to contributors. As an independent literary magazine, our focus is on building a curated platform for emerging voices.
How are submissions evaluated?
Every submission undergoes a thorough review based on specific artistic criteria. Our editors prioritize originality, linguistic craft, emotional resonance, and how deeply the work connects with the issue's theme. All final editorial decisions are absolute.
What happens if my work is accepted?
If your work is accepted: you will be contacted by email, we may request a short author bio, and your work will be included in the upcoming issue of the magazine.
Can I withdraw my submission?
Yes. If you wish to withdraw your submission for any reason, please email us and we will remove it from consideration.
